Just felt like dropping a quick update, too boring in lecture.
4 consecutive hours in a same lecture hall is torturous, makes me feel like its ways longer than it suppose to be.

5th week back in uni and i'm still living in the don't-know-what-is-happening land..cant wait for easter holiday this weekend and hopefully try to get myself back on track..been hitting the uni gym lately which explains my sores all over my body, some family problems are causing me some unneeded/unwanted stress.

think bout this : If it's true that we are here to help others,then what exactly are the OTHERS here for??

Aite long story short....read the news and look at the pics...my mate is such a lucky man, we was the driver of the van, gee.... and oh all of em escaped with cuts and bruises only..disgusting part was the other driver's head was detached from the body

' A man was killed after crashing his car while fleeing police on the Gordonton-Puketaha Rd, north of Hamilton.
The crash happened on the south side of the intersection of Gordonton and Puketaha Roads shortly before 4pm, Waikato Road policing manager Inspector Leo Tooman, said.
"As a member of the Waikato Highway Patrol was leaving a service station on the corner of Thomas and Horesham Downs Roads he noticed a blue Mazda 323 being driven in a manner to cause concern and began to follow it."
The police officer gave chase but abandoned it after about two minutes, Mr Tooman said.

The southbound Mazda then collided with a northbound Toyota people mover carrying six people.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Mazda died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
"The Highway Patrol officer witnessed the crash and immediately called for assistance before commencing to evacuate the occupants of the van, all of whom were taken by ambulance to Waikato Hospital to be checked out. None suffered life threatening injuries," Mr Tooman said.

Gordonton Rd was closed for over two hours to allow police to investigate.

"A full investigation is under way by the Hamilton CIB which will be overseen by senior police from outside the Waikato District."

The Independent Police Complaints Authority and the coroner had been advised, but it was too early to determine the cause of the crash or to confirm the victim's identity, Mr Tooman said.
The six male passengers aged between 22 and 33 years, had injuries consistent with a crash, Waikato Hospital communications consultant Amy Thomson said.

Police and emergency services were investigating. '

Its been 3 months since I last blogged, well after settling down in nz and after having a weird spell this morning here i am again,

Can't really believe this, my previous blog post was about the passing of a friend, 3 months later its bout another passing of another friend.

Heaps of you must have heard bout the dragon boat tragedy that happened on the 17th of Jan 2010. Yeaup 1 teacher and 5 students drowned in the incident, all of em from my previous high school,CLHS, 3 of them happens to be Leo club members and one of em,Jason, happens to be the president of the club.

First met Jason in the Leo Camp back in early December, didn't get the chance to really know him but, he was a good leader, a good friend, someone who can make the worst thing best, someone who listens to advices and work towards it, someone whom is determined to get things done the right way. Although the time we knew each other was short but I do really appreciate the time we had! Remember before leaving for PCGHS's charity concert in Auto-City, we met in the Leo Camp review meeting and I was asked to make some comments on things that needs improvement, I told Jason that his games ideas was there but the execution of it wasn't there and needs improvement, but unfortunately from now onwards we don't have the chance enjoy his ideas. Rest in peace my dear friend! Jason! ROAR! Jason! ROAR! Jason! ROAR ROAR ROAR!!!

and for the teacher and the 4 students, rest in peace, your passing is a huge loss to the community. You'll all b deeply missed!

Dear James,
You were a good friend, a good senior nonetheless a good person. Remember the days where we had fun in leo projects, although the days were short as I migrated those were one of the best days we had. Remember those things you thought me and also guide me through difficult situations, those memories are carved deeply in both my heart and mind. I do regret for not making the effort to contact you and meet up, but our final conversation will be remembered. For James' family and friends please accept my deepest condolence. We shall live life to the fullest, live life happily, live life with no regrets. There is more to say but I guess the next phrase will round it up all right. Bro, I miss you. Rest in peace my friend.......you'll be deeply missed!

Hey guys, yea this blog is full of cobwebs and creepy crawlies..being lazy to update my blog..but as a promise to update before 1st October 2009, here it is

Nothing much has been happening in my life except for parties and also poker nights.
For the last 2 nights I've attended 2 birthday party 2 very very different kind of celebration.
on Friday night I was at Tien and Vee's birthday party..We had like a food fest, Vietnamese spring rolls, sushi, Japanese pancake thingy, Japanese cold noodles and last but not least berry cheesecake!

Ski Trip

As a promise to somebody, I said I'll post a blog during the weekend and this is it..

Aight during my sem break my family and I decided to go up to Mt Ruapehu one of NZ's largest ski field. We went down to the Huka Falls in Taupo and had lunch by the Taupo lake. After an hour we were on our way to the lodge for the night. Played some board games, poker and cooked some bbq in the dark talked, and went to bed at around one, woke at 6, packed and left the lodge for a day at the ski fields.

Julian and I picked snowboarding as we felt its more 'manly' but the other chose ski-ing. Suprisingly mom did some ski-ing too but with falls all over..okay this is gttin boring I'll let the pics tell the story.

ps. I'm planning to make it an annual trip to the ski fields.

The case is made of metal(according to Dell its Magnesium alloy) whole laptop is matt black in colour and the keyboard lettering is solely white. Unlike other laptops with backlit light it only glows when you press a key(there is another option where once you move your mouse or press a key the backlit light will glow). Lights on the laptop are blue including the light on the power plug. With dual navigation the touchpad and the 'in-the-middle-of-the-keyboard control' it provides users to have an option, with the hands of a novice 'in-the-middle-of-the-keyboard control' it proves to be a mission to navigate the pointer across the screen. The ambient light sensor helps you to change the brightness of the screen according to the amount of light present. Although there are still some flaws with the sensor it doesn't really affects the performance( just a simple switch on and off will fix it).

The USB plugs, card readers, optical drive and the external screen plug is located on the side which eases the need of turning the laptop to the rear unlike most laptops. Power plug and the ethernet plug are located on the rear which keeps all the 'one-off' plugs away from the side which allows room for the USB plugs. As its a 'business'laptop there is less buttons for the 'musicplayer' but that could be encountered by shortcut keys. The noise level is pretty high but it is okay once you're used to it. Speakers are located to the left and right of the keyboard with the volume set and 35-40 its reasonably loud enough for a room. The 9-cell battery is pretty long lasting, I've tried once operating with powerpoint, word doc and also normal browsing the battery is able to last for at least 5 hours ( with the keyboard light off, light set to low,and battery plan set on balanced)

The cons of this laptop is that the case is a fingerprint magnet, once you touch it say hello to fingerprints. The speakers are dust magnets you can see strand and strands of dust if you don't wipe it daily. With the matt black finish you can see dust easily which makes your laptop look a little dirty.

All in all its a good laptop for business people and students who don't look for flashy-ness in their gadget, although its abit to pay for but its a worthwhile investment.

A car driver in Australia has been fined for strapping down his beer rather than his young child.

Police said they were "shocked and appalled" when they pulled over the car south of Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory.

They said the 30-can pack of beer was strapped down between two adults in the back, with the five-year-old child unrestrained on the floor.

The driver was handed a fine of A$750 (US$709; £362).

The fine was for failing to ensure a child was wearing a seatbelt as well as driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

'Blank' look

The car was pulled over on the Ross Highway last Friday.

Constable Wayne Burnett said: "I haven't ever seen something like this before.

"This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child... The child was sitting in the lump in the centre, unrestrained."

When Constable Burnett handed over the fine he said the driver "just looked at me blankly".

"He didn't get it," Constable Burnett said.

"I asked him about the fact the child was unrestrained and the beer was, and he said he didn't know anything about it."

Superintendent Sean Parnell of Alice Springs police said the incident was a "timely reminder" to ensure "all passengers are secured".

Massive clean-up

Well just did a massive clean-up in my room..and its messy but still better..just some random stuff
#1 I got enough t-shirts to last me for about a month and a week..
#2 I got enough towels to last me a month assuming changing it once a week..
#3 I got enough boxers to last me half a month..
#4 I got enough socks to last me for a long time..
#5 I got enough shorts to last me for a year assuming i change them once every 3 months..(its denim you dont wash them often..to keep ur denims long lasting wash them every 6 months)

Most of you knew that I went to taiwan for like 21 days and most of you knew that I've spend like a month in Malaysia around a week in KL, 2 days in cams and the rest in Penang.

Sleeping soundly 'boosts memory'

A refreshing night's sleep may be the best way to boost memory, a study suggests.

Researchers found sleep appears to have a dramatic impact on the way the brain functions the next day.

It appears to strengthen connections between nerve cells in the brain - a process key to both learning and memory.

The University of Geneva study was presented to a Federation of European Neuroscience Societies conference.

The researchers studied a group of 32 volunteers who were taught a new skill or shown images they would later have to remember.

The skill tasks included trying to follow a moving dot on a computer screen using a joy stick.

One group of participants was then allowed to sleep normally for eight hours, while others were deprived of sleep or only permitted a nap.

The next day they were asked to repeat the tasks or recall the images while their brains were scanned using a technique known as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).

Those who had slept properly performed better, and this was reflected in their brain activity.

Lead researcher Dr Sophie Schwartz said: "Our results revealed that a period of sleep following a new experience can consolidate and improve subsequent effects of learning from the experience.

"This improvement comes from changes in brain activity in specific regions that code for relevant features of the learned material."

Dr Schwartz said sleep helped the brain consolidate learned experiences and harden up weak memories which otherwise might fade in time.

However, she said much more research was required. For instance, it was unclear how much sleep was required to have optimum impact.

"We now want to know which brain circuits are involved in these learning effects during the night and if we can experimentally enhance such effects.

"We want to assess how sleep disorders affect emotional and cognitive functioning, and what are the biological factors responsible for these effects."

Important part of life

Dr Neil Stanley, a sleep expert at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, said the findings proved just how important it is to get a good night's sleep.

However, a recent poll of 4,000 adults in the UK found only one in five sleep for eight hours a night.

Dr Stanley said: "Sleep is not just a waste of time, it is a very active time and we need it for things like memory and learning.

"During the day we acquire information, but at night we sort that information.

"People complain about sleep deprivation, but now with the 24/7 society and information overload we need our sleep more than ever."

We were divided into groups of 8 or 9 and is given a colour to each group, the colour of my group is blue..

We have to do some computer simulations of businesses and name our companies 2 different clothing stores and if possible 1 more company name for trade fair..
Points are accumulated throughout the week and the team with the most points wins the whole business week.

We have CEOs, company owners, marketing director of Toyota NZ, Finance Director of Saatchi&Saatchi(One of the world's famous advertising firm) to talk to us about business world in NZ.

For your info my dear readers..my rear tyre on my bicycle punctured the other day...sometime last week..to be exact Tuesday knowing me I delayed until Thursday to fix my bike.
3 km is the distance i pushed my bike to fix and it costs me NZD48.00 exactly RM110 just for a rear wheel.Went into town with my homestay bro Brian..had lunch at MoMoTea.

Been kinda lazy to update ma blog...actually did intend to put sum pics on other posts bt the connection is just toooo slow..

Spent most of ma morning at 'the place up hill' Waikato Uni...well if u live near me n study in the same school u knw wot i mean by the place up the hill or the place up thr..

Open day is nothing fancy and fun...especially when it rained all day...everybody is trying to gt into shelters n stuff..goin to different subject's 'mini lectures' altho they dont intend to study that subject and stuff..

Overall its good and worth it..worth ma time waking up early to get a ride and walk home..it helps me to set what I want to study next year..next step is to find the school career consultant and see if the subjects im taking fits what i wana study next year....

Its gettin wetter and wetter each day...

Holden won..being nt a fan of holden or ford..i was thr just to gt a feel of legal street racing.
I would want to take this opportunity to congratulate the organizers for making this event successful and hope they wil do the similar wonderful job for the next 6 years..

I'm one step closer to a couple things...
Firstly I'm 1 step closer to ma hols..which starts this monday...woot woot..
Secondly I'm 1 step closer to V8 over at Frankton..dates to be confirmed tomorrow..
